Jade Jackie Chan Adventures RECCA-con 2002 wai! i love jade! yup... this is my 2nd jade costume! my hair is getting shoooe long, ne? it used to be perfect jade length... but ^_^; it's super long now... not too long, but for me, it's really long. my hair usually never gets passed my shoulders! this outfit of jade is so far shown only in 2 episodes of JCA! first in the "evil jade" episode, and 2nd in the episode that featured Tohru's mother! both were in short scenes but *__* these were too cute! so now for actual construction. it was actually a really easy costume to make. only took me two days total, over a spread out time, because i was really lazy on it ^_^; the fabric was bought at Joanne's... yay for coupons and fab on sale! it was a really cheap costume, and i got a good grade of pink material *_* i drew myself a pattern for an oversized t-shirt, based on one of my own shirts. the alien was drawn on a sketchbook to scale of how large i wanted it on the t-shirt. i then cut the drawing into pieces like a puzzle and cut the fabric that would be used for the alien out. i pinned the pieces together so that it'd look like the alien, w/o being sewn together. i pinned the alien to the front shirt piece, and went over the edge loosely with my sewing machine. i then went over it with a close wide-stitch to give it an outline look. the eyes and mouth and other details were made with the close wide-stitch on an outline of a fabric marker. the rest of the t-shirt was put together as it should, then with the purple lining on it. after, i handsewed the bows on the alien's hat... and yay! fin!
